David Grogan is a partner in the bankruptcy and creditors’ rights practice group in the Charlotte office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP.  His principal areas of practice are corporate bankruptcy, insolvency, workouts and restructuring.

Mr. Grogan has extensive experience in representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy restructuring.  He also regularly represents creditors’ committees in a variety of bankruptcy courts inside and outside the Carolinas and has substantial experience in defending preference claims brought by bankruptcy estates.  He frequently speaks to trade organizations on bankruptcy issues and was named by Business North Carolina magazine as one of the state’s “Legal Elite” in 2013.

Mr. Grogan was graduated from Florida State University magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in engineering and from Duke University School of Law with honors.
