New Incoterms® Rules Go into Force January 2020 - Are You Prepared?

• Know the Changes in the Rules Before Shipping in the New Year (comparing 2010 version to 2020 version)
• Learn Which Rules are Disappearing and Which Rules are Changing
• Discover the “New” Rules - a deep dive and explanation of every rule
• Learn the Benefits and Application of the 2020 Version
• Avoid Pitfalls and Problems from the Use of Incorrect Terms
• Discover Which Terms are Most Suitable for Your Company and Your Transactions

Using the wrong ICC Incoterms® Rules when trading goods worldwide exposes companies to greater risks and costs in the form of lost goods or unnecessary disputes. That is why it is so important to understand the Incoterms® Rules and use them correctly, so that companies can trade with one another safe in the knowledge they are following international best practice. Simple mistakes can be easily avoided with knowledge and correct use of the most current Incoterms® Rules (2020 version).

Incoterms® Rules establish clear precedents for business operating within rule-based international trade. Incoterms® Rules are relevant to business, governments and individuals everywhere in the world. Millions of people around the world use the Incoterms® Rules to do their daily jobs, whether in sales, accounting, shipping, documentation, purchasing, government, etc. Incoterms® Rules are essential terms of trade for the sale of goods, whether you are completing a purchase order, packaging and labeling a shipment or preparing a certificate of origin. The Incoterms® Rules will guide you through all of these processes and more.

Without the Rules there would be confusion between buyers and sellers as to the points of entry, transportation costs, risks and obligations, maintenance of goods, and many other issues. Understanding the rules is paramount to making sure the transactions flow smoothly, whether importing or exporting.

Much has changed in Global Trade in the last decade. Incoterms® 2020 has considered the latest development in commercial practices. The more educational focus and a willingness to make Incoterms easier to understand is a response to changes the economy has seen in the past decade, including the explosion of e-commerce.
